Marianne Simonsen is professor at the Department of Economics and Business Economics, Aarhus University and a research fellow at CESifo and IZA. Her academic interests lie within family, health and labour economics. She currently explores how reforms of welfare policies affect children's wellbeing and human capital; the role of universal parenting support during the transition to parenthood; and how to support children who grow up in families plagued by substance use problems. Since 2023, she has also been editor at Scandinavian Journal of Economics.
